Introducing Teapot

Discover two new scholarly journals: Transport Phenomena (TP) and Open Transport (OT), known collectively as Teapot.

Like a teapot, which relies on heat to brew, diffusion to infuse, and flow to pour, these journals represent the infusion and dissemination of knowledge across disciplines.

Same editorial team, same standards, same scope—your choice

We understand how important it is for authors to have choices in both publications and publishing models. That’s why we’ve launched these sibling journals.

Sharing the same mission and scientific scope-publishing the latest advances in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mass transfer-the journals welcome contributions from all areas of the physical and biological sciences, applied mathematics, and every branch of engineering.

Whichever one's your cup of tea, we invite you to explore these new publications!

“We have created journals embodying the very essence of transport phenomena — always moving, always connecting, always transforming.”
Alan Jeffrey Giacomin (TP) and Natalie Germann (OT), Founding Editors-in-Chief

Transport Phenomena is a classic library subscription journal where publishing is free, with the option to make your work open access for an article processing charge (APC) of €3,500.

Visit the TP homepage

Open Transport is a fully open access journal with an APC of €1,600.

Special collections

Transport Phenomena and Open Transport regularly publish special collections in focused or thematic areas. Special collections are published across both journals-simply select a journal and submit via its online submission system, then choose the relevant special issue when prompted.

The journals advance understanding and application of the transport phenomena sciences through rigorous, fair peer review and the publication of original, tenure-accruing contributions that represent the best work of the transport community.

We welcome contributions from all areas of the physical and biological sciences, applied mathematics, and all branches of engineering, advancing the understanding of transport in all its forms.

Watch out for a new Teapot book series coming soon!
